What Are the Joyful Mysteries?
The Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary focus on five Gospel events surrounding the Incarnation, birth, and early life of Jesus Christ. Under the customary schedule that includes the Luminous Mysteries, they are prayed on Mondays and Saturdays. In the older traditional schedule, they are prayed on Mondays and Thursdays, as well as Sundays during Advent and Christmas.
The five Joyful Mysteries are:
1. The Annunciation
2. The Visitation
3. The Nativity of Jesus
4. The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
5. The Finding of Jesus in the Temple
The Joyful Mysteries begin with Mary’s response to the Angel Gabriel and follow the coming of Christ into the world, His birth at Bethlehem, His presentation in the Temple, and His being found there at the age of twelve.
Through Mary’s free “yes” to God, the Son of God took flesh and entered human history. Throughout the Joyful Mysteries, Mary continually directs our attention toward Jesus Christ, the source of Christian joy.

Which Bible Translation Is Used in the Joyful Mysteries PDF?
The Scripture passages in the guide are taken from the Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition.
The Douay-Rheims is a traditional English Catholic translation of Scripture. Book, chapter, and verse references are provided so each Gospel passage can also be read in full directly from the Bible.
The inclusion of Scripture before each mystery also allows the guide to be used as a Scriptural Rosary, in which the Gospel event receives particular attention before or during the decade.

Rosary Prayers Included in the Joyful Mysteries PDF
Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer
Queen of the Holy Rosary,
you have deigned to come to Fatima,
to reveal to the three shepherd children the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary.
Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion,
in order that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption which are recalled in it,
I may be enriched with its fruits and obtain peace for the world,
the conversion of sinners and of Russia,
and the favor which I ask of you in this Rosary.
(Mention your request here)
I ask it for the greater glory of God, for your own honor, and for the good of souls, especially for my own. Amen.
Sign of the Cross
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ,
His only Son,
our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified,
died,
and was buried.
He descended into hell;
the third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.
Our Father
Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus,
forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those who have most need of your mercy.
Amen.
Hail, Holy Queen (Salve Regina)
Hail, holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy!
our life,
our sweetness,
and our hope!
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then,
most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus;
O clement,
O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us,
O Holy Mother of God,
that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Rosary Closing Prayer
O God,
whose only begotten Son has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life,
Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Fatima Pardon Prayer
My God,
I believe,
I adore,
I hope,
and I love You.
I beg pardon of You for those who do not believe,
do not adore,
do not hope,
and do not love You.
